About the Artists

Ben Kim is an American pianist, born 1983 (age 30–31) in Portland, Oregon, USA who won the First prize winner of The 55th ARD International Music Competition in Munich, September 2006 including the Grand Prize in the 2000 World Piano Competition Young Artist Division and most recently, First Place in the 2004 Yale Gordon Piano Competition at the Peabody Conservatory. Furthermore, he has won the highest prizes in the Mary Graham Lasley Competition in Virginia, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition in Colorado, the Philharmonic Society of Arlington Young Artist Competition in Massachusetts, and the MTNA National Baldwin Piano Competition. In 2004 Kim finished an accelerated Bachelor of Music degree program at the Peabody Conservatory as a student of Leon Fleisher. He studied in the Leipzig Sommer Akademie with Bruce Brubaker. Also, he is currently attending the Universität der Künste Berlin (UDK Berlin) and selected to attend International Piano Academy Lake Como in Italy. Even legendary teacher and mentor Leon Fleisher exalted Kim for his "enormous potential for a first-class career.

First Prize at the Bösendorfer competition Vienna in 2007 Young Austrian pianist Andreas Donat has earned an international reputation with his expressive performances of piano music from Bach to Leon Kirchner. As an eleven-year-old, Andreas had his debut at the Konzerthaus Vienna, in 2008 he played his first solo recital at the Musikverein Vienna, and nowadays he performs as a soloist, chamber musician and Lied accompagnist through Europe, the USA and Japan. When Andreas won The First prize at the Bösendorfer competition Vienna in 2007 and a number of International competitions including The top prize winner of the International Beethoven competition Vienna 2009, the 2005 Rudolf Firkusny Competition in Prague and the 2001 Young Pianist's Chopin Competition in Vienna. He is also a scholarship recipient of the Swiss Dr. Robert and Lina Thyll-Dürr Foundation, the Viennese Fohn Foundation, as well as the Yamaha Music Foundation Scandinavia. Andreas Donat was born in Vienna when he was fifteen, he began his studies at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts under Heinz Medjimorec and from 2003-2005 . He studied under the German pianist Stefan Arnold at the Performance Department of the Vienna University of Music. Andreas Donat now lives in Berlin and graduated in summer 2013 from the University of Arts Berlin, where he had been working with Klaus Hellwig.
